Open plains and wildlife in the Masai Mara

The legendary Masai Mara National Reserve is where safari comes alive in its purest form.

Endless plains stretch to the horizon, alive with wildlife at every turn. Lions rule the grasslands, cheetahs scan for movement, and elephants move steadily across the landscape. Between July and October, the Great Migration transforms the Mara into one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth, as thousands of wildebeest brave the Mara River in dramatic crossings.

Culture & people

Culture, people, and land

Culture and life alongside the Masai Mara

The Mara is also home to the proud and iconic Maasai people, whose culture and traditions remain deeply connected to the land.

From traditional homesteads (enkangs) to vibrant beadwork and age-old pastoral practices, the human story here is inseparable from the wildlife. A safari in the Mara is not only about what you see — it's about understanding the relationship between people, land, and nature.
